This review will look at both the qualifying and post qualifying aspects of approved training.Additionally, in developing and appraising options the review should:- Have regard to changes in the potential future provision of higher education and social work education.- Take account of developments in social care and how they may affect the financial support of social work training, e.g. the health and social services agenda for integration and the development of regional approaches to service management.- Contribute to the plan to ensure a sufficient supply of suitably qualified social workers able to deliver the ambitions of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and messages from the parliamentary review of health and social care in Wales;- Make best use of all available funding streams (including Welsh Government student finance);- Establish a funding system that promotes value for money and simplifies the arrangements for funding of qualifying and post qualifying training from both an administrative perspective and for those seeking support;- Support a variety of routes into the social work profession and widening access to social work training;- Strengthen the profession so sufficient social workers are supported to remain in front line practice and develop their careers in practice roles;- Support employers to provide the practice learning opportunities necessary for the professional qualification and more advanced and specialist skills including research;- Take account of the needs of students, employers and training providers.The purpose of the review is to develop a model for making best use of existing resources, not with the intention of reducing the overall level of support.Please download the specification for further information.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=82800.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
