Invitation to Tender for the provision and support of reagents and associated equipment for a fully automated EGFR and MSI testing system for cancer molecular diagnostics to St James’s Hospital

Descriptions

Fully automated EGFR and MSI testing system for cancer molecular diagnostics. The CMD laboratory currently provides a routine cancer molecular diagnostics service for the majority of the country. This service uses Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). A dedicated rapid analysis platform is being sourced to facilitate repeat analysis of lung cancer samples which are insufficient for NGS. Due to the necessity for isolated repeats the system will need to be fully automated from tissue to result and be capable of functioning with limited amounts of input tissue. It is our proposal to acquire a secondary (CE-IVD marked), fully automated rapid analysis platform to perform sample to result same-day repeat analysis of samples that fail to generate a result using NGS. A system that is easy to use, with minimal hands on time and the ability to process FFPE or extracted DNA will be required. The platform in question should be self contained and return single results within a day. Separately there is currently a demand for the processing of MSI testing which the system should also be capable of processing.
