The University of Exeter is pursuing a new enterprise service management capability to enable the IT service meet a number of key objectives:— a ‘shift-left’ strategy where service support is moved from specialists to generalist and better control and visibility over service performance and business satisfaction.— greater use of self-service tools including intuitive help and ‘chat’, and access to online resources including a knowledge base.— better control of managing service requests, incidents and problems facilitated by automation.— a clear and easy experience for users to reduce demand and minimise the risk of shadow IT.— a platform for hybrid cloud orchestration and supplier integration, and optimise the supply chain where suppliers are held to account for their IT products and services.
