The City Literary Institute (City Lit) is a further education establishment based in central London which primarily provides adult education. City Lit is a company limited by guarantee and is a registered charity. It has been providing quality part-time courses for adults in the heart of London for 90 years. Today it attracts 40,000 students a year who choose up to 4,000 different courses.City Lit is based in a purpose designed building extending over 8 floors with two smaller operations facilities nearby. It continues to grow its use of IT and information learning technologies and wishes to appoint a single IT supplier to work in partnership to support and develop its IT services. City Lit originally outsourced its IT support services in 2000 and the contract was renewed in 2006 following a competitive OJEU procurement. The current contract expires in September 2013 and is hereby being re-tendered.The services being tendered cover 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support to City Lit's three locations and include,but are not limited to, desktop, laptop, server, network and environment support; on-site help desk provision; data and disaster recovery; hardware maintenance including builds and/or re-builds, repair and replacement / deployment; change administration and implementation; problem management and preventative maintenance; asset management; third party management; 2nd level support for e.g projectors, CCTV, printers; and capacity, availability, antivirus and security management plus planning and support for ongoing developments and stratergy.4 staff currently provide the on-site service and the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE) are expected to apply to the re-tender in the event that the incumbent supplier is not successful.
