The Communities 2.0 Consortium, consisting of The Wales Co-operative Centre, the University of Glamorgan, Carmarthenshire County Council, Novas Scarman and the Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS), were successful in winning the contract to deliver the Welsh Assembly Government’s Communities 2.0 Programme. Communities 2.0 aims to tackle digital exclusion in the Convergence areas of Wales.A key objective of the Programme is to assist community groups and voluntary sector organisations and social enterprises to adopt and exploit ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). This will be delivered through the Communities 2.0 Circuit Rider network. Circuit Riders are mobile ICT professionals who provide an integrated package of ICT technical support and development to voluntary and community groups in their region to allow them to maximise their use of ICT, both operationally and strategically. Circuit Riders also research, pilot and document appropriate new technologies and share knowledge with the Communities 2.0 network.The Wales Co-operative Centre leads on this Communities 2.0 Circuit Riders ICT Support Service tender opportunity to deliver the services of 2 Circuit Riders across specific Local Authority areas of Wales.Prospective tenderers can request the ITT Circuit Riders 0110 (ITT CR 0110) tender document up until 14:00, Monday 15th February 2010 by e-mailing a request to Zoe Jackson at zoe.jackson@walescoop.com.
