Descriptions
This is an extension of existing University of Nottingham HPC facility. It includes 2 GPGPU login/visualisation node and 54 compute nodes and includes hardware and software support for 3 years. A GPGPU login/visualisation node also included is vendor specific remote visualisation software providing a web portal for the visualisation node allowing job submission and management. The purchase includes the provision of 21 Dell PowerEdge servers (3xR720 and 74xR620), 4 NVIDIA Tesla K20M GPGPU cards, and 3 PowerVault MD1400s each with 40TB of storage and associated hosting and network equipmentThe services provided will include integration with the existing University of Nottingham HPC and depends on the following UoN HPC facilities, HPC scheduler, fast parallel storage, support and maintenance arrangements.This contract cannot be fulfilled by any other supplier due to (a) the need for the appointed supplier to provide maintenance and software support to the existing equipment, which can only be provided by 1 supplier. (b) the need for the supplier to provide software for the proprietary existing system and (c) the requirement to purchase additional equipment to integrate with the existing system which can only be done by 1 supplier. Reg 32 5) (b).
