It is expected that from April 2015 the NIHR CRN shall comprise fifteen LCRNs and one CRNCC (the former are already in place). The Authority requires that the CRNCC and LCRNs work together, with shared principles,values and behaviours to form the single entity that is the NIHR CRN. As such, the Supplier agrees to work at all times in accordance with, and understands the importance of, this requirement. The Supplier shall be responsible for the operation and provision of the CRNCC. The purpose of the CRNCC is to provide the headquarters of the NIHR CRN and to provide executive and operational leadership, management, and governance of the whole of the NHS research infrastructure which comprises the NIHR CRN working with, and on behalf of, the Authority. This shall include:— Providing the headquarters of the NIHR CRN;— Developing Strategies for the NIHR CRN, for the purpose of directing the NIHR CRN and engaging NIHRCRN Customers and NIHR CRN Stakeholders;— Liaising with the Authority;— Performance management of, and planning for, the NIHR CRN;— Ensuring that Customers' needs are met or exceeded;— Engaging with NIHR CRN Stakeholders;— Financial management and assurance of the NIHR CRN;— Governance of the NIHR CRN;— Workforce planning and learning and development of all NIHR CRN staff; and— Provision, Use, Management, And Development, Of Information And Communications Technology Systems.Service Outcomes:The Supplier shall provide a CRNCC that:— Oversees a world-class clinical research infrastructure, which is an integral part of the NHS and wider NIHR.— Delivers its Performance Indicators and ensures the NIHR CRN achieves all High-Level Objectives.— Manages performance of the LCRNs effectively, celebrating successes and addressing underperformance promptly.— Has effective structures and efficient ways of working.— Works collaboratively with NIHR CRN Customers to meet their needs.— Demonstrates dedication and success in involving and engaging patients and the public in research delivery.— Delivers value for money.— Ensures Supplier Personnel and the NIHR CRN workforce are well trained and developed.— Makes best use of technology and new media in delivery of the Service.— Provides a customer-focused service.— Responds effectively and efficiently to NIHR CRN Stakeholders.— Promulgates best practice.— Has a culture of relentless focus on continuous improvement.— Acts in accordance with behaviours set out in the Procurement Documents.
