The Marine Institute is the national agency responsible for Marine Research, Technology Development and Innovation. The Explorers Education Programme was established in 2006 and is funded by the Marine Institute. The development and management of the Programme and aspects of preparation and delivery of education is carried out by The Camden Education Trust, on behalf of the Marine Institute. The Camden Education Trust works with a support services team and also with outreach teams throughout Ireland to deliver the Explorers programme to primary school children, teachers, student teachers and the education network. The subject of this tender is the service of the outreach teams. An Explorers Outreach Centre is defined as an outreach centre (e.g. including aquariums, science centres, museums and / or other marine cultural outreach attractions) that has an established legal entity (e.g. an organisation, such as an academic institution, charitable body, not-for-profit organisation or commercial company) in the Republic of Ireland, that agrees to actively support set deliverables (agreed with the Marine Institute) under the Explorers Education Programme. The Outreach centres will deliver up to 423 modules to primary schools (4th – 6th class) as part of the Explorers Education outreach in Schools, providing the following services and/or deliverables:1. Delivery of the Explorers Education Modules2. Delivery of the Explorers Special Ocean School Project Module3. Provide marketing and communications support in raising awareness about and engagement in the Explorers Education Programme4. Provide quarterly and end of year data pertaining to module delivery and evaluation.5. Provide project plans which include capability to deliver service remotely during and post Covid19 pandemic (to include high standard COVID risk management practices).Outreach Centres are invited to submit tenders for one or more of 15 Lots.
