ITT_9720 - Review of Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Assets (FD2730)

Descriptions

1.The government is committed to driving down flood and coastal erosion risk from every angle, building a country that is better protected and better prepared for the future. These risks are becoming more prevalent, with the rise in climate change and population growth. Consequently, it is important for Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) powers, duties, roles, and responsibilities to be clear and understood; especially in relation to assets that mitigate these risks. 2.This research project will review statutory powers and responsibilities associated with FCERM assets across all flood risks (rivers, sea, surface water and groundwater) and coastal erosion. The research project must also capture riparian landowners and asset owners, who often have non-statutory powers and responsibilities to manage and maintain assets and watercourses in England. 3.This research project will cover three main strands: -FCERM assets -Coastal powers and responsibilities -Surface water flood risk assets and management
