The Marine Institute, a semi State body, wishes to invite tenders for Small Business Innovation Research to support development of methodologies for assessment of Ireland’s seaweed resource. Applicants are invited to tender for projects under the SBIR Ireland programme to develop technology enabled solutions addressing the challenges outlined in the following category, further details of which are outlined in the Challenge Brief:•Development of technology focussed data acquisition, processing and analytics solutions capable of delivering rapid and cost effective intertidal, species level, seaweed distribution assessment, at a regional scale (e.g. by County). Developments are 100% funded and focused on specific identified needs, increasing the chance of exploitation. Suppliers will be selected by an open competition process and retain the intellectual property generated from the project, with certain rights of use retained by the Marine Institute. The competition is open to any organisation, developers of technology, ICT and software solution providers, universities and service providers.
