Contract for the design and build of student residences and associated public realm at the University's new Waterside Campus development in Northampton under a 2 stage design and build process. The student residence and associated public realm contractor will be responsible for completion of the design from the end of RIBA stage 3, delivery of the student residential accommodation including an educational hotel, fixtures, fittings and equipment, commercial space, other ancillary spaces and associated public realm to the surrounding areas associated with the accommodation plots.The University has designed 1 198 units but the University reserves the right to reduce this number to no lower than 1 000 units. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by January 2018, in readiness for use at the start of the academic year commencing September 2018.The new student residences are part of the new Waterside Campus development to provide state of the art facilities and technology that will ensure all students have access to extensive and high-quality teaching facilities, library, IT suites, studios, innovative learning spaces, laboratories and social facilities. Only the student residences and associated public realm are being procured under this procurement process and contract. The new campus will comprise higher education buildings, an energy centre, and fallow space available for leisure, retail commercial development and future University expansion.
