Through the delivery of a number of programmes KLP aims to reduce poverty and promote social inclusion and equality aimed at working with the most disadvantaged and the hardest to reach in communities. The programme is aimed at: disadvantaged children and families, disadvantaged young people (aged 15-24), disadvantaged women, lone parents, new communities (including refugees and asylum seekers), people living in disadvantaged communities, people with disabilities, Roma, the unemployed, low income workers/households, Travellers, the disengaged from the labour market (economically inactive). Small holders and their families are also recognised as a group that may present for upskilling in particular areas of ICT and will be able to avail of both programmes.Driving Ambitions aims to engage with those who are considered to be in need of additional supports and/or living in highly disadvantaged areas throughout the county of Kilkenny using a targeted approach through the engagement processes. The programme is underpinned by the following. •a wider understanding of the challenges and barriers to individuals accessing education, training or employment•Emphasis is placed on the importance of managing change and decision making going forwards.Programmes Structure•Total number of participants – 80•Average class size of 10 participants•Each Individual to complete a driver theory training programme; 6 x sessions of 2 hours per session•Each individual completes their Driver Theory test and 12 x Driving LessonsAnticipated Outcomes:•80 people complete a training course teaching fundamental driving skills to learner car drivers. •80 Driver Theory Test Certificates obtained•960 Driving Lessons delivered to RSA legislation; driving tests cannot be scheduled until RSA receive confirmation from an approved ADI Instructor that individuals have the 12 EDT Sessions completed.•80 x Individual Personal Action Plans, identifying personal progression.
