Lab 120 Refurbishment Works

Lab 120 is a high profile research laboratory focused on aquatic plankton and algal research. The Department of Biosciences within the College of Science is the key stakeholder. There are a large number of users (typically 6-7 at any one time) including academics, contract researchers, post graduate students (MSc, MRes and PhD and post docs) and visiting scientists. There are a number of high profile research projects (e.g RC-UK, BBSRC, NERC Innovate-UK Newton, Interreg, Horizon 2020) being undertaken in this lab 120 in addition to a number of student research projects. SEACAMS project members also use this lab as do members of CSAR.The project aims to refurbish the laboratory 120 in Wallace building, which is part of the Biosciences department facilities. This project is supported by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) funded project SEACAMS2 which aims to assist the development of opportunities in Low carbon, Energy and Environment in the convergence regions of Wales, and is an investment in the potential offered by the marine economy and marine renewable energy.Further information is available in the tender documents.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
