At the University of Galway (Ireland) in the College of Science and Engineering, tenders are sought for the supply of a Powder X-ray Diffraction Instrument.The powder X-ray diffractometer (PXRD) currently available in Chemistry is over 12 years old, it does not have enough resolution and accuracy to perform quantitative analyses of the data, and is not suitable for most of the new materials being studied at the moment in the College. For some families of materials, it is key to have good resolution to not only identify crystalline phases, but also see fine changes in the structure upon chemical or physical modifications of the material.
