Descriptions
A Hybrid Manufacturing Cell is being procured for use as a demonstration capability for companies to explore the technology where it is not readily available to industry and conduct research into novel manufacturing processes. There currently is no accessible test bed of this type in Ireland and having a test bed at the IMR would allow IMR and companies to break each of the requirements down to give a greater understanding of each so when implemented onsite would cause minimal disruption. The system consists of a Robotic Arm, a Machining Spindle, a Polymer Extrusion System, Tooling and Working table and required safety cell elements.
