Language and Work Skills Training for Refugees

The service will deliver a personalised language and work skills training programme on a rolling basis to refugees who have settled into the Hampshire County Council area under Government funded relocation programmes, primarily under the Syrian Vulnerable persons relocation scheme (SVPRS) and the Vulnerable children’s relocation scheme (VCRS).The objectives of the service are to ensure that participants:— Gain a range of skills that enable them to actively compete in the local job market;— Develop work-focused English language skills;— Access work placements;— Gain recognised qualifications and,— Integrate into the local community.The service will be delivered by the provider in partnership with community groups who are actively involved in the resettlement of refugees into the area and with local businesses.
