Descriptions
The aim of the Cardiff University WSA LCBE Test Systems ‘Retrofit’ Project is to integrate low carbon test systems into five existing residential buildings to demonstrate how the test systems perform in-situ. The five residential buildings are located in the Convergence Areas of Wales and are all owned by Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). The components of the test system are: building fabric improvements (external wall insulation, roof insulation and airtightness improvements), 3.0 kWp roof mounted photovoltaic array with battery storage, DC USB Outlet, low energy ventilation system, low energy/flow fittings, high efficiency boiler and a tenant energy display. The test system will be optimised for each property and all the test systems will be comprehensively monitored (remotely).
