This Contract is split into two elements;r r Coroner's Daily Removals/Collections: The collection of the deceased from their place of death, or where the body lies, to the bidders chapel of rest, at the direction of the Coroner, the Coroner's Representative, or Police Officer. r r Coroner's Post Mortem Transfers: The transportation of the deceased from either a chapel of rest or hospital mortuary to the contracted mortuary for post mortem. r r Bidders will need to ensure that where they are bidding for both Coroner's Daily Collections (Lots 1-7) and Post Mortem Transfers (Lots 8-12) that all Quality Response Requirements are answered. There are separate Working Method Questions for Lots 1-7 and Lots 8-12, if a Supplier is bidding for both elements then both sets of questions will need to be completed. r r This contract is particularly delicate in that any arrangements must recognise the sensitive and distressing situations involving the removal of the deceased. The deceased must be removed using suitable equipment and appropriate manual handling techniques ensuring no further damage to the body occurs or distress to relatives and bystanders.r r The Supplier shall take in to account the Council's 'Green Masterplan' which focuses on the Government's target for the UK to be "net zero carbon" by 2050. To reduce the Council's contribution to greenhouse gases, the Supplier shall take into account alternative means of transportation, such as using electric vehicles.r
