The Service has secured external funding of £50,000 to create and equip a state of the art technology led physical activity base at Ogmore Valley Life Centre (OVLC). The equipment must be delivered by 31st March 2011. The tender process shold be completed by 11th March 2011.The Service wishes to invite suitably experienced and qualified providers of technology led fitness equipment to use their industry knowledge and skills to develop smart, innovative and creative solutions to the stated outcome requirement listed below. Outcome requirementsHealth by StealthAn exercise concept that provides opportunities in such a manner that they are not necessarily perceived as exercise. Such an approach is aimed at re-positioning sport and physically activity away from the wide-spread and often negative perception that it is only for ‘sporty people’. Multi-abilityThe ‘Leap 2 life’ Centre must be able to support a broader ‘multi-ability’ approach to the delivery of physical activity by focusing on developing the whole person. The multi-ability outcomes required are:-?Physical – which refers to an individuals fundamental movement skills and their ability to combine and transfer skills effectively in a range of activities and sporting environments.?Creative – which refers to an individual ability to explore, express themselves, use their imagination and develop their own idea and solutions.?Personal – which refers to an individuals attitude and approach to learning and how comfortable, confident and motivated they are.?Cognitive – which refers to an individual’s ability to order and understand problem solve, apply skills and make appropriate decisions.?Social – which refers to an individual ability to work well, communicate and learn with others.PortabilityThe make-up of the equipment package must allow for both fixed on-site usage and portable off-site usage, although it is recognised that not all items will be portable within the centre and wider community. The items deemed portable should support the productive use of floor space equivalent to the size of a squash court.Key Target MarketsChildren who are inactive and not inclined to be activeChildren who are already active Families including multi-generational activitiesPeople who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs)
