Support Services for Young People Leaving Care.Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) have identified an initial site in Chester and it is envisaged that this property will become available early June 2015. This property consists of 5 self-contained flats within 1 unit close to Chester town centre. There is an additional flat that will be used for support staff and a training provision for Young People to develop independent living skills.The authority is working with housing partners to identify a total of 3 separate group homes which will be sourced in different areas of the Borough (likely to be Chester, Ellesmere Port and Northwich), It is envisaged that 2 remaining group living properties will have phased launch dates by the end of 2015/16.Individual Property.Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) will also identify a number of 1 or 2 bed properties across the borough with a view that these become sustainable for the young people.It is envisaged that the service will offer support to an indicative figure of 21 Young People — these numbers will be achieved in a phased manner during the first 12 months of the contract implementation.The group accommodation will each be staffed 24 hours a day and provide a base for person centred support for the Young People as identified within their pathway plans.
