The Contracting Authority is seeking to appoint a number of consultants as part of a complete design team. Each consultant will be appointed individually and will report directly to the Consultant Project Manager.The Consultant works are defined within the ‘Lot’ packages but can broadly be defined as follows:Lots 1: Conservation Architecta) Conservation/ preservation/ restoration to Cathedral West facadeb) Ditto to Exchequergate archc) Coordination and integration of new build works and exterior landscapingLot 2: New build architectsa) New build interpretation centre linking cloisters with Old Deanery buildingb) Alteration, adaptation and extension to Old Deanery buildingLots 3: Quantity Surveyora) Conservation architect worksb) New build architects worksc) Landscape designer worksd) Interpretation and exhibition fit out workse) External lightingf) All other construction related costsLot 4: Landscape designer – urban design works to west and north aspects/ external spaces within the close and to open the current ‘closed’ spaces to public accessLot 5: Lighting designer – Consideration of the requirements for new architectural lighting to the Cathedral and associated buildings.Lot 6: M&E Services – to assist the new architects with the design and development of the Interpretation building and alterations and adaptations to the Old DeaneryLot 7: Structural engineer – to assist the new architects with the design and development of the Interpretation building and alterations and adaptations to the Old Deanery.Lot 8: CDM Coordinator – For all works summarised aboveLot 9: Interpretation and exhibition designer – to review the existing offer and provide interpretation and exhibition design advice to assist the new build architects in designing the most appropriate building and developing and designing an interpretation strategy and exhibition design for the new Interpretation Centre and the Cathedral as a whole.Lot 10: Archaeologist – to review all archaeological requirements including the area under the proposed new Interpretation Centre. Carry out all desk-top studies, Written Schemes of Investigation and provide an ongoing watching brief.Lot 11: Ecologist – to review all proposed works on site and advise on all ecological issues and requirementsLot 12: Acoustician – to advise the design team with particular regard to the new build Interpretation Centre and alterations to the Old Deanery, Cathedral re digital guides and West Front amphitheatre.Lot 13: Activity Plan, Marketing and Audience Development Consultant – to work alongside the Cathedrals in house project manager to develop a comprehensive and robust Activity Plan for the HLF Round 2 submissions and on going use.Lot 14: Business plan advisor – develop the outline business plan into a full business plan for the HLF Round Two submissionLot 15: Digital visitors guides – provision of digital visitor guides capable of conveying the Interpretation Plan within the Cathedral, Heritage Centre and external areas.Lot 16: Client Project Manager – salaried employee to work alongside the Consultant Project ManagerLot 17: Access consultant – to advise on all designs to ensure compliance with necessary regulatory and statutory bodies/guidelines.
