Line Marking Works
Descriptions
The Council’s Streetcare Highways service is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 1250 km of highway network. The maintenance of roadmarkings and studs is managed from 2 depots at Porth and Abercynon with works identified by the depot’s inspection / engineering staff. The works are issued predominantly between April and September and works orders can vary in value from an individual location to a series of streets or road lengths for line marking. Generally works orders are issued in packages of £2k but please be aware that there could be orders which are lower in value. In addition the Highways service undertakes projects and schemes for a range of Council clients which will require roadmarkings, studs, anti-skid treatments and associated works. Again, values of orders can range from a single roadmarking feature to the complete relining of a street or car park for example. It is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to respond quickly to works requests and works closely with the Highway staff to ensure clear communication and coordination of works.
