To train members of London's breast screening workforce to become leaders and innovators within their organisations. Breast screening services face a number of challenges not only as a direct result of Covid-19 on provision but also because the pandemic has exposed frailties within the those services. Staff, both clinical and administrative, are stretched and recruitment and retention is challenging. Morale is low and staff are not always able to gain support from within their organisations to try to address these challenges. NHSEI is looking to commission an evaluated training programme that will support current and future leaders of the London breast screening workforce to develop strong leadership, influencing and service improvement skills. We would like breast screening services to have staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who have the confidence, skills and knowledge to identify problems within their services and to be better equipped to confront them. This includes the ability to recognise issues as they arise, to develop plans and strategies to deal with those issues and to have the necessary skills to influence/challenge their organisations internally to acknowledge the issues and act upon them.
