Lost Peatlands of South Wales Project – Sphagnum Inoculation

The Countryside and & Wildlife Team of Neath Port Talbot Council wish to contract a contractor to contribute to the delivery of a pilot trial of Sphagnum inoculation as part of a large scale habitat restoration. The pilot is intended to test the efficacy of Sphagnum inoculation in the context of peatland restoration of previously afforested peat in South Wales.This contract is part of a 1 year project, ‘Lost Peatland of South Wales’, started end-July 2019 with this contract starting September 2019 and completed June 2020. The successful consultant will work alongside the Project Team in delivering the project and acting under supervision of the Project Ecologist.The Council Countryside & Wildlife Team are looking for a suitable contractor to deliver the above project over the period September 2019 – June 2020 and are therefore inviting quotations.Funding for this contract is being made available by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
