To deliver:- A bespoke industry-led pre-vocational programme for drylining. This will conform / show how it can address the requirements set out in the ‘Integrated pre-employment & pre-vocational training’ section of the NEV construction Specifications Overview and responding to the findings of the ‘Lessons learned from the Pilots.’ (Attached). The proposal should demonstrate clearly how it meets industry standards in its lesson plan design and demonstrate how it can achieve success in placing trainees into entry roles in industry through its links, track record, and through continual improvement and innovation. The project needs to demonstrate through its method statement how it will address the preparation, installation and quality management of all stages of the fit out process. Trainees will be required to work safely and competently in a site based environment in addition to completing all elements of pre-vocational qualification. The quotation is being sought for drylining work skills in particular are in short supply in the travel to train area of central south London. The method statement should seek to identify the key attributes required to get people up to the competence and speed required to work on site by engaging with industry. This may mean targeting candidates who previously have studied plastering, or other construction experience and who have a good foundation and aptitude for this work. Provision could draw on existing funded provision including:- •Level 1 Introduction to Dry Lining level 1 Award •Level 1 Health and Safety in the construction environment + CSCS card The following L2 units would be helpful in enabling a trainee site labourer to develop skills and add value to price work in this trade area:- •Confirming to General Health and safety and welfare in the Workplace •Moving handling and storing resources in the workplace •Erecting and dismantling access /working platforms in the workplace •Setting up and using transportable cutting and shaping machines in the workplace Install dry lining partition systems, finish dry lining joints, install dry lining and encasements, and apply finishing plasters to plasterboard surfaces. In addition you will be required to read and extract information from drawings specifications, conform to general workplace safety guidelines, security and waste management controls.
