This Prior Information Notice (PIN) solely relates to early market engagement around the development of a Low Calorie Diets (LCD) programme, which will aim to pilot optimal implementation models for programmes delivering European standard total diet replacement (TDR) products to people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.NHS England wishes to notify potential providers about its intention to commence early market engagement in advance of a potential commissioning process to support its emerging Low Calorie Diets programme. The programme will seek to provide a total diet replacement product alongside a structured programme of support including food reintroduction and weight loss maintenance to people with type 2 diabetes.Potential providers are encouraged to attend a market engagement event to hear more detail on current plans, and to share insight to further inform these plans.
