Rhyl has three EU Bathing waters; Rhyl, Rhyl East and the only inland saline bathing water in Wales at Marine Lake.Rhyl bathing waters are influenced by the River Clwyd on the incoming tide, and this is by far the greatest influence on bacteria levels at Rhyl. We therefore need to reduce bacteria levels in the Clwyd catchmentStudies have shown that the greatest sources of agricultural bacterial pollution in the bathing season is from stock access to streams and rivers.The purpose of this Framework it to allow for a series of contracts to be let for the fencing out of the relevant watercourses in the catchment of the Afon Clwyd along with the provision of drinking troughs, and installation of pumps where necessary.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
