Maintenance of Firearms Ranges

Greater Manchester Combined Authority, as the Contracting Authority for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), seeks to create a Framework Agreement for delivery of services to maintain police firearms ranges; including deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of materials.The Authority intends to award framework status to a single supplier, and for police forces to be able to direct award a call-off contract which meets their own specification. The resulting framework will be available for other police forces in the UK (listed at https://www.police.uk/forces/) to access.The successful provider will be required to deliver cleaning services to the standards defined in the ‘Handbook of Police Range Safety, Volume 2’. The provider is also to ensure full compliance with current Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations for all work undertaken within the ranges and the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005, regarding all waste disposals from the ranges.
