Manufacture and Supply of 5-off New Generation Nuclear Flask Carriers for operation on the UK rail network. On completion, the vehicles are to be made available for collection by rail at a mainland UK location to be discussed and agreed. Vehicles are to be certified/homologated in accordance with the Freight Wagon Technical Specification for Interoperability (T.S.I.)/UK Notified National Technical Rules (NNTR's) for use on the UK Rail Network Infrastructure. DRS are a wholly owned subsidiary of the NDA who operate and maintain the existing fleet on behalf of the NDA. DRS act as Design Authority and are the legally nominated entity responsible for the maintenance of the existing fleet under the Private Rail Wagon Agreement (PRWA). DRS are therefore acting as project manager for this particular tender.
