The MMO is co-ordinating an enforcement programme for monitoring, control and surveillance of all sea fishing activity within British fishery limits and particularly for the waters around the coast of England, and UK registered and licensed fishing Vessels operating outside those either in the waters of other EU Member States, Norway and the Faroe Islands and ‘distant waters’ such as the Indian Ocean. In carrying out this regulatory function, the enforcement programme includes the inspection of fishing Vessels at sea and in port, inspections of fishing industry premises, fish markets and other locations around the coast and further inland by MMOs MEOs, in England. Inspections at sea are carried out by the RN's fishery protection squadron operating under a contractual agreement with the MMO. There is also a requirement to carry out a programme of aerial surveillance; undertaken by a contracted party on behalf of the MMO. The MMO does not own any of the Vessels used in carrying out the enforcement programme, and this framework is to establish Providers with Assets in various locations around the UK, and of the required capability, that can be requested by the Contracting bodies on a Call-Off basis.This is a call off framework and the sum of contracts likely placed through the framework is unknown.Nothing was awarded under Lot 1 due to the tenders submitted for this Lot not providing sufficient coverage for the full English Territorial Waters, which was required within the ITT.
