Translink operates over 1 100 vehicles (Ulsterbus) covering the Northern Ireland region and approximately 260 vehicles across the Greater Belfast area (Metro). In 2013/14 there were over 40 000 000 passenger journeys on Ulsterbus services and approximately 26 000 000 passenger journeys on Metro services. Throughout Northern Ireland and also in Stranraer, Translink has more than 80 manned locations, encompassing administrative centres, Bus Depots, Railway Stations and halts, bus engineering workshops, railway maintenance facilities and signalling and telecommunications relay rooms.The ICT Programme has identified the replacement/upgrade of telecommunication systems, devices and cabling as a key project to deliver an improved data network and voice telephony system Please see document Market Engagement — ICT Network Refresh Project — on our website www.translink.co.uk/tenders for further details.
