The Welsh Government is currently developing plans for an ambitious and high quality public transportation system.This system will support economic development in Wales and will enable the people of Wales to travel more quickly and easily. Part of this ambition is to introduce a world class smart ticketing infrastructure that will allow users to travel across all modes of transport and simplify ticketing arrangements.The Welsh Government wants an Automated Fare Solution, but ideally without having to make a major upfront capital investment in ticketing infrastructure whilst minimising any capital expenditure on its infrastructure. This is an opportunity for the private sector to offer new and innovative ways to introduce smart/digitalised ticketing across Wales. This will enable fare paying, concessionary, and discounted passengers to travel across all modes of transport seamlessly.The Welsh Government is open to discuss innovative approaches for financing and operating this project, and would like to meet with companies with the appetite to take on this exciting challenge.If you are interested in finding out more then please express your interest using the appropriate response section in the “Record your Interest” tab below.
