Harewood Infant and Junior School is located in Robinswood Hill on the outskirts of Gloucester.Harewood Infant and Junior School provide stimulating, high quality education for children of Tuffey and surrounding areas.Both Harewood Infant and Junior schools believe that every child has the potential to achieve and we ensure this through our rich and varied curriculum and the structured teaching of key skills particularly in Literacy and Numeracy, matched to the needs of each child.The School currently receives catering provision from an outsourced provider but their current Contract is due to come to shortly.All infant children are eligible for Universal Free School Meals, however, only 90 — 95 % take it up.Approximately 20 % of the junior pupils are eligible for free school meals but not all of them consume these meals everyday.The School is looking for a competent and capable Outsourced Catering provider whom can ensure that the children and staff continue to eat nutritionally balanced and delicious meals.2. Contract PeriodSubject to the provisions of the default clauses in the Conditions of Contract, this Contract shall remain in force for a period of three (3) years.At the end of the initial contract period, the School may choose to extend the Contract for a further period of up-to two (2) years at yearly intervals, this shall be according to the performance of the supplier/s during the initial Contract period, prevailing market conditions and School requirements. Any such extension shall be at the originally tendered prices.3. Summary of RequirementsAn outsourced catering provider is required to provide specialist services in the development, preparation and serving of meals. In addition, the provider will also be responsible for all legal and health & safety requirements in delivering the services. It is currently anticipated the contract will include all food and staff provision to support the delivery of the requirement.The supplier shall provide a range of nutritious meals that comply with Government's minimum nutritional and food based standards for school lunches. Good quality, wholesome food which is attractively presented is to be offered to pupils and school staff. Meals should reflect growth in healthy eating habits and trends and form a basis for services that are popular.The supplier shall establish effective management and operational level communication systems at all levels regarding the catering service with customers which include; school management, parents and pupils.Meals shall exceed the Government's set nutritional and food based standards.A jacket potato option with a choice of fillings must be available on each day.— Diabetic meals, both main course and pudding;— Coeliac / gluten free diet;— Soft diet;— Low fat diet;— Reducing diet;— Exclusion diet;— Dairy-free diet;— Halal diet;The supplier will need to provide a meal deal option, consisting of (not exclusive) fruit / yoghurt, wrap / roll.The supplier will be responsible for the washing and drying up of the following:— All dirty crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and light equipment used in the provision of the school meals service;The supplier will be responsible for the collection and return of all dirty crockery, cutlery, and other equipment used in the provision of catering services to the wash up area.Standards of cleaning must meet those set out in the Food Safety Act 1990 and with any subsequent amendments and legislation.Upon request by the Head or nominated officer the supplier is expected to provide a catering service for additional ad-hoc school / community requirements.The School is supportive of sustainable procurement and where practical, the use of local foods/local suppliers within contracted services is encouraged.All supplies governed by Food Safety Legislation shall be stored as appropriate.The school reserve the right to request supply chain data to ensure the purchase, preparation and supply of food under this contract is compliant with the specification.
