Mechanical and electrical engineering services. The University wish to appoint an Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineer from RIBA Stage D to L. The Stage C Feasibility Report will be made available to the shortlisted consultants at the appropriate time.The new build facility will be developed in partnership with co-investors, will be occupied by 140 University of Liverpool researchers and up to 100 researchers from industry partners. It will create shared central analytical facilities, a new high-throughput formulation laboratory, and maximise usage and leverage for the University's pre-existing, leading capabilities in molecular biosciences, as well as integrating these with existing research facilities within the Donnan Building. Flexible, specialist workspaces will also permit researchers from other industrial and academic collaborators to use the open-access equipment at the University via a ‘research hotel' concept.It is anticipated that the new build element of the project will incorporate the demolition of the existing lecture theatre. The new building will incorporate research labs, office accommodation and associated ancillary spaces. We anticipate the need for flexible lab spaces designed to Breeam Excellent rating.It is likely that limited refurbishment of the existing buildings will also be required as part of the project. Areas for refurbishment could include research labs, office accommodation as well as circulation, plant and service spaces.Indicative construction value is GBP 18 million exclusive of contingencies, and vat.
