Media monitoring & database
Descriptions
Ofcom uses media monitoring to assess, and sometimes respond to, news coverage about our work, ensuring it is accurate and informative for people who read, see or hear it. Our media team uses a journalist database to allow us to contact news desks, reporters, columnists, editors and bloggers about our work, explaining announcements and responding swiftly to queries. We require timely, reliable, daily emails linking to coverage/clips relating to Ofcom from all UK national newspapers, major regional titles, newsstand magazines and broadcast media (national or local). We are also increasingly covered by international press, especially in the US, and would expect major international titles, primarily those in North America, to be picked up. This could be either print, online or both; but all relevant articles should be captured accurately and reliably. This includes accurate textual summaries of each story, which reliably capture the main relevant points. The contract will be for the provision of a comprehensive, daily media monitoring service that will be provided to a large range of colleagues across Ofcom and access to a database of journalist details that will be used by the communications team.
