MEDITE Europe DAC are seeking suitably qualified companies to supply and install Press Protection Scanning Equipment. Below is our Main Specification List, which sets out the details of our process and products to ensure the equipment is fit for purpose.Current process informationMedite is a manufacturing facility that produces Medium Density Fibre (MDF) Panels on a continuous press, during the process a low density fibre mat is laid down on a moving belt before it enters the continuous press where it is compressed and heated to form the panel.Due to the high compression used in the press where the fibre mat is compressed from approx. 160mm to 18mm on large panels & approx. 40mm to 3.2mm on thinner panels, any foreign objects present in the fibre mat has the potential to damage the press steel belts contact surface.Medite wishes to install a scanning technology to detect any foreign objects in the moving fibre mat.The fibre mat ranges in width from 2800mm to 2200mmThe fibre mat ranges in height from 160mm to 40mmSpeeds range from 650 mm/sec to 110 mm/secObjects that may be present in the fibre mat may include but are not limited to metal and non-metal objects, glue lumps, plastic lumps & dense fibre lumps.Requirements•A stand-alone unit capable of automatically detecting foreign objects throughout the fibre mat.•The system should handle the various product characteristics such as length, width, thickness, density & speeds listed above. •The system should be capable of signalling to the reject system when an object is detected. This would be achieved through connection to the existing process PLCs.•The system should have the function of defining different grading rules based on different product types.•The system should have a suitable monitor and controls for the operator.•Radiation levels and guidelines to be included in submission if X-ray technology is used.•References to be provided of existing installations in similar industries with the option of a site visit to view
