Mental Health Support in Flintshire

Descriptions

This notice at this stage is to purely gather market intelligence for the requirement detailed below . There is no guarantee that any competitive exercise will follow this request.Flintshire County Council’s Mental Health Support Service is looking to provide a flexible range of support for people with mental health problems in line with the principles of “recovery”. Recovery means that people have the right to build meaningful lives for themselves and to have valued roles, regardless of their mental health problems. Support involves working in partnership with people so that they may take more responsibility and eventually become independent in managing their homes, in participating in their local communities, and in undertaking employment activities or other volunteering and educational opportunities. Finally, the support services team aims to provide outcome focused services which reflect the highest quality and best value for the service user. There are currently approximately 114 service users accessing support from our Mental Health services (community living and intensive support) in Flintshire, on average we are delivering approximately 629 hours per week. There are 3 pricing bands to reflect the level of need, low, medium and high, we believe this service will attract the higher rate banding for support, £11.50 - £13.50 per hour.To meet these aims, there are a number of service objectives. These are:•To meet each individual’s needs by working with them to identify and achieve a range of personal goals, as recorded in the person’s Support Plan.• To respect confidentiality and promote trusting professional relationships with service users and their carers. In doing so, to help people who use services to participate in the planning and the development of their own support.•To help reduce the need for admissions to hospital or higher levels of care and to promote opportunities for safe discharge from care settings by supporting the individual to recapture skills and self-confidence.•To work in partnership with all stakeholders involved in mental health services, in order to support people with complex problems via positive risk taking.•To promote equal opportunities for people with mental health problems to overcome discrimination and exclusion from society, and to challenge stigma.•To ensure workers within the service have support and training to carry out their roles effectively in line with the recovery approach.•To respond to complaints appropriately and to monitor the quality and responsiveness of the support provided in line with the recovery approach.
