Merton Fields (adj. St. Lukes School) Natural Grass Sports Pitches Refurbishment Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the refurbishment of an existing natural grass sports pitch. Playing field refurbishment of existing natural grass pitches in a public open space, in Swindon, Wiltshire. Refurbishment of existing natural grass pitches to improve their existing poor condition by employing the following operations to bring to good condition for football use: To include: -Spraying out of existing playing surface that is infested with weeds -The poor surface smoothness that is causing surface water ponding over the course of the playing season to be alleviated by laser levelling /regrading/cultivation operations -Mechanical stone burying of the many stones present on the surface (some flint) -Reseeding with specified drought tolerant hard wearing grass mix -12 months Maintenance Period to include cutting, overseeding and fertilising -Removal of a significant length of widely spaced concrete paving and associated subbase and relevelling We are also requesting a fixed price sum for a potential 2 year additional ongoing maintenance works contract Full details relating to the Works are provided in the tender documents. Contract Period The contract will be for a period of 2 months, commencing 14th August 2017, or earlier by arrangement if feasible. Tender Responses are required to be submitted no later than 28th July 2017, 12.00GMT by hardcopy to Mr. David James only. If you require any clarifications on the tender documents please submit these in writing via e-mail, including the project name clearly in the e-mail title, to David James at djames@swindon.gov.uk.by 28th July 2017, 12.00 GMT. The Council's responses to these clarification questions will be uploaded as attachments on the project webpage attachments section. Therefore it is the Contractor's responsibility to check the site regularly for updates to clarifications, as you will not be advised when updates have been made.
