1 year extension of an existing contract (the ‘Contract’) with Ericsson Media Services UK Limited (‘Ericsson’) for the provision of both technical and editorial Metadata Publication Services (‘MPS’). The Contract was initially due to expire on 31.3.2017 and has been extended to 31.3.2018.At the end of the extended terms of the Contract, the BBC intends to in-source technical aspects of MPS provision and to continue to outsource editorial aspects. The BBC intends to commence a competitive process for the remaining outsourced aspect — the editorialisation of audience facing programme metadata — in April 2016.
