Microbrewery Effluent TreatmentSummary of Services required from Specialist Provider:Conwy Brewery is a micro brewery based in Conwy, North Wales. As part of the Company’s forward thinking development we wish to procure specialist services to evaluate our various waste streams and effluents with a view to changing our disposal practices to maximise economic and environmental performance. In particular, we are interest in exploring the potential for treating as much material as possible using anaerobic digestion, either on site at small scale, or at off site third party facilities. In order to achieve this we also wish to evaluate the potential for dewatering / concentration of materials and the de-activation of spent yeast to optimise disposal efficiency. A summary of the services required is:1)Identify suitable analysis requirements for each of the waste streams with reference to Anaerobic Digestion.2)Identify lab to carry out above analyses & report on findings and undertake the following evaluations.3)Identify & test suitable means of pre-treatment/inactivation/separation of yeast4)Identify & test suitable means of separation of hops from wort for re-use in brewery.5)Investigate ways to economically reduce the water content of the feed stocks which will have a direct impact on increasing biogas potential & reduce transport costs.6)Assess biogas production potential of the feed stocks and of a likely mix of substrates.7)Identify suitable local Anaerobic digester facility and assess feasibility of disposal by this route.8)Undertake a techno-economic evaluation of treatment / disposal optionsAdditional information is provided.
