Mid Devon Council is considering an ‘Advanced self-service’ solution within the revenues and benefits service. All solution must be compatible with current software systems and be flexible enough to accommodate complex legal rules and changes. Customers must be able to take control of their account/records allowing them to manage changes in circumstances, apply for reductions and assistance with both Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction. Customers must also be able to upload evidence as required by law and Council policy. Evidence and applications must fully integrate with current systems and allow for ‘real time’ integration. Such activity needs to be validated and actioned automatically. Maintenance of the ‘self-service solution’ must be able to be done at a local level rather than a supplier level, where possible.
