South Tyneside Council is seeking to procure the services of a Lead Consultant as Principal Designer and Lead Architect to assist the Council's Construction and Technical Services in the design provision for the delivery of the redevelopment and reconfiguration of Middlefields Recycling Depot & Industrial Estate. The Principal Designer/Lead Architect will in turn appoint Landscape Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Energy Advisors, Planning Consultants, Ecological Consultants, Highways/Transport consultants and any other such sub-consultant with expertise in the redevelopment of recycling depots, industrial estates or similar. The appointed Principal Designer and Lead Architect will be expected to work closely with the in-house Council representatives (Design Engineers, Project Managers, end users, Building Control, Planning Authority, Clerk of Works etc.), the externally-appointed Cost Consultants, the to-be-procured Contractor(s); and carry out the services as per this document and specified within all appendices that may be required in order to deliver the project.
