Design and Engineering is the Division of the BBC responsible for delivering digital experiences to the audience. Part of the digital portfolio includes a range of audience facing native (iOS and Android) mobile and hybrid applications.Design and Engineering is seeking to establish a short list of preferred suppliers for the provision of mobile development services, and associated services, to support their engineering efforts. The benefits sought in going to market are:— Development of a specialised, focussed capability— Building deep expertise with the BBC Mobile Application Platform (MAP) and MAP component suite— Driving alignment on mobile application build and architecture approach— Driving development of modular, functional, capabilities by augmenting and extending the Mobile Application Platform and in turn, greater utility and reuse across the BBC mobile technology estate.
