Construction works for power plants and heating plants. District heating boiler. Engineering design services. Construction work. Water mains. To undertake all design and build tasks associated with life cycle replacement of engineering infrastructure detailed below:Construction of a new generator hall and installation of diesel powered electrical generating plant and equipment, ancillaries and distribution equipment so as to provide connection facilities for the new generators etc., the new HV board is to be interconnected to the current one so as to provide for continuous operation. Provide a new Control room for the safe and efficient operation, generation and distribution of electrical energy. On satisfactory completion of the works, decommission and dispose of the existing generators and redundant ancillary systems.Modification of existing standby generating station to permit automation of generator controls, synchronisation and switching so as to support future load growth while maintaining available redundancy requirement; and also conducting compatability and life cycle replacement of identified equipment.Replacement of existing boiler plant, pumps and associated ancillaries; rearrange pipework to provide means of double isolation of the plant and equipment. Incorporate within the system the use of waste heat from the generators in the new power station and the burning of waste oils in a separate facility which is to be installed as part of this requirement.Replace the existing Medium Temperature Hot Water distribution system with an underground primary distribution network, connected to heating and hot water services within the buildings via local heat stations. Where facilities require higher temperatures, install suitable and sufficient equipment to make up the shortfall in supply.The electrical supplies are to be maintained during the project, and down time of the district heating system is to be minimised so far as is reasonably practicable. All waste materials and arising are to be removed from site (Falkland Islands) and disposed of in accordance with MoD, UK and EU legislation.The requirement is for a 25 year design life for all elements of this project. All designs are to comply with relevant EU, UK and FI legislation.
