Descriptions
Provision and management of distribution services from the NHS Scotland National Distribution Centre at Canderside, 2 Swinhill Avenue, Larkhall, ML9 2QX (NDC) to health bodies in Scotland. These health bodies include all entities constituted pursuant to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, currently 14 regional Health Boards, 6 Special Health Boards, Health Improvement Scotland and the Authority, together with all joint integration boards established under the Public Bodies (joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014.The NDC has been created to break bulk and supply products to all NHS Scotland departments.The majority of deliveries are currently conducted on a radial distribution fleet. Deliveries to the Western Isles,Shetland, Orkney, Elgin and several small central belt locations may require a 7.5T access vehicle. When required, such services would be undertaken by a partner carrier.
