Needs Assessment - Adults Co-occuring Mental Health &Substance Misuse Problems
Descriptions
In 2015 Welsh Government published a framework designed to inform and influence the delivery of integrated and collaborative practice in the delivery of mental health and substance misuse services. Welsh Government indicated that oversight and assurance should be provided by Substance Misuse Area Planning Boards (APBs) and Health Boards via their lead role in local mental health partnership boards (LMHPBs). The recently published Review of Working Together to Reduce Harm: Final Report (Livingston et al, 2018) concluded that stakeholders felt a greater emphasis should be placed on the interface between mental health and substance misuse services for those experiencing co-occurring problems. This issue is also subject to review by Health Inspectorate Wales.Problem definitionAre we transforming and integrating services sufficiently well to meet the needs of adults with co-occurring metal health and substance misuse problems?Project aimTo carry out a health needs assessment to understand what it would take to improve access, experience and outcomes for adults with co-occurring metal health and substance misuse problems. The project must be completed by 31 March 2019.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
