Westminster City Council is procuring a contract for the Neighbourhood Upkeep contract for the Church Street Regeneration area. The contract is for a team of skilled community workers, the ‘Neighbourhood Team’, to coordinate the Neighbourhood Upkeep project.Their key aspects of the project are:— To establish and run a community gardening scheme which provides volunteer opportunities for local people to be involved in the maintenance of public gardens and growing schemes within the green spine, including those with special needs or mental difficulties;— To ensure training and accreditation is linked to the volunteer opportunities, leading to some paid positions;— To support independent gardening and growing in the neighbourhood, through the provision of equipment or advice if requested;— To coordinate a programme of community activity focusing on positive activity for younger children and their families, on the green spine and within estates;— To establish and administer an annual ‘Neighbourhood Chest’ for micro-organisations;— To ensure that the new green spine is well maintained and well used;— To establish a ‘Green Spine’ website explaining what is happening on the spine or around it and how to get involved;— To ensure that defined recreational spaces within the green spine are opened and closed to maximise community well being.Please refer to the PQQ and draft ITT documentation for further information.
