Expressions of interest are invited to identify a maximum of six bidders who can demonstrate the capability and experience to successfully undertake the delivery of the sustainable construction works for the extension and construction of new build visitors centre to Coed Y Brenin although we reserve the right to take a more appropriate number through where necessary.The FCW intends to award a contract for the construction of new facilities utilizing innovative and sustainable construction methods at Coed y Brenin Visitor Centre, near Dolgellau. A BREEAM Excellent standard is a funding requirement of this construction.FCW (FC) intends to procure the services of a suitably experienced and resourced CONTRACTOR to fulfill the Principal Contractor role (under the CDM 2007 Regulations) for the proposed construction works.The total value of the contract will be approximately £700,000 - £800,000The anticipated commencement date will be October 2011 with completion by June 2012 This project is part of the Gwynedd Council-led Eryri Centre of Excellence partnership and is part funded by the EU’s Convergance Programme European Regional Development Fund through Visit Wales and the Welsh Assembly Government. (Additional funding toward the project comes from Gwynedd Council, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Tourism Partnership Mid Wales, Forestry Commission Wales, Urdd Gobaith Cymru and he Environment Agency).
