Expressions of interest are being invited from suitably qualified and experienced main contractors to complete the design and to construct a new Faculty of Business & Law building at the University of the West of England, Frenchay Campus.The accommodation is expected to comprise of between 13000 and approx. 16,500 square metres, subject to planning.The accommodation will comprise of up to 6 storeys and incorporate teaching space to 6 floors, multi purpose space to the ground floor, offices, social space, catering outlet and all associated supporting facilities.The preferred procurement route is Single stage NEC option A fixed price design & build contract.The overall project duration will be 21 months, and the building is expected to be in use by the University for August 2016.The design team have already been appointed and it is the intention of the University to novate the key Design team members to the successful contractor. Currently the Design team are at RIBA stage 2 and will continue to develop the design during the tender process. Tender documents will be issued at RIBA Stage 3.It is anticipated that the site will be cleared prior to the appointment of the main contractor and that a substructure enabling package may be let.
