New Rolling Stock for London Overground.

Descriptions

The Contracting Authority is planning the introduction of new rolling stock to support the following London Overground programmes: a) Introduction of electric train services to the Gospel Oak-Barking line to replace existing diesel units coincident with, or as soon as possible, following completion of electrification in 2017; and b) Introduction of new units to other parts of London Overground to increase capacity; and c) Introduction of new units to West Anglia Route to replace existing units as part of the proposed transfer of responsibility for West Anglia inner suburban services to RfL. To support the achievement of these objectives the Contracting Authority is seeking to identify suppliers who can demonstrate the following capabilities: (i) Design, manufacture, testing, commissioning and entry into passenger service of electric multiple unit rolling stock for London Overground operations. (ii) Collaboration with client organisations to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient passenger service. (iii) Provision of fleet maintenance services and technical support for the design life of the rolling stock.
